About
I am a PhD student at McGill University and R&D Scientist at Hitachi Energy. I completed my MSc in Electrical Engineering at McGill, and a BA in Cognitive Systems at the University of British Columbia with an emphasis in linguistics. Broadly I am interested in the practice of designing for perceptual and cognitive factors in human-machine-systems. This research direction sees the application of cognitive ergonomics to the design of intelligent interactive systems. Past work explored multimodal speech communication and perception, including haptic speech reinforcement/replacement, vocal interfaces for affective robots, and affective telepresence systems. At Hitachi I generally work on decision support systems.
